Bowls
|
The Bowls Club is fortunate to be thriving today. In years gone by the club has been both socially and
competitively active and members of both sexes have held numerous District and National Honours both on
and off the green. Three Springbok players, Graham Jones, Thinus Oelofse and Annette Terry played out of
Benoni Country Club.
The first bowling green is believed to have been operational from 1927 but the first official records
were only available from 1947. Today the club boasts three greens in top condition - the Knight, Mc Vicker
and Prescott Green as well as a renovated clubhouse for the comfort and pleasure of the members.
